Southern Shield Fern (1 gal)

A Georgia native fern, easy to grow and tough in the right spot. Light green fronds spread happily through shady beds, for moderately paced naturalization. More tolerant than many ferns, the shield fern will do well in most Marietta soils & is happy in full shade to part sun. One of our personal favorites for the natural woodland understory look.

Botanical name: Thelypteris kunthii

Mature size: 1 to 3 ft tall, spreading.

Light: Partial to full shade.

Water: Moderate. Likes consistent moisture.
