Native Azalea 'Admiral Semmes' 3G

Exceptionally tough & showy, the Admiral Semmes native azalea cultivar (Rhododendron ‘Admiral Semmes’) is a deciduous azalea that grows to an airy 5' x 4', and makes a show-stopping understory shrub for sunny or shady locations. 
Graceful, branching growth habit makes this shrub typically shaped like a small tree, rather than a mounding shrub.  Appreciates protection from harsh afternoon sun, and consistent moisture in its first year. 
This cultivar was specially developed to withstand our hot, humid summers, and is mildew-resistant. Spring brings big, showy yellow blooms before foliage is visible - these flowers look like large honeysuckle blossoms, and are loved by pollinators.
