Shipping & Delivery

How Plantness delivery works

Plantness is a real local delivery service run by real local people. No gig drivers, no anonymous handoffs. Here is what to expect.

Curbside delivery

We set your order down on a clean, visible spot near your driveway, garage, or front walk. We do not carry mulch around the side of the house, place pots in specific garden beds, or move things into a backyard. Keeping delivery curbside is what lets us serve more of your neighborhood on the same route and keep delivery fees friendly.

Have a preferred drop spot visible from the driveway, like under an overhang, by a side gate, or behind a porch column? Leave a note at checkout and we will honor it when we can.

When we deliver

  • Plants and live items: Weekend route. We pick up from our supplier on Friday and deliver across Saturday and Sunday. Order cutoff is Thursday at 8pm for that weekend's route.
  • Mulch, soil, and hardline goods: Within 2 business days. We pick up locally as orders come in and drop off as soon as we can get to your neighborhood.
  • Mixed carts (plants + hardlines): We deliver everything together on the weekend so you get one trip instead of two.

If a plant has to be reordered

We work hard to keep our catalog accurate against our supplier's stock, but they do not restock on a clock. A plant we listed as available occasionally has to be reordered, which typically adds about a week to the delivery. If we have most of your order ready and one item has to wait, we may split the delivery into two and bring the held item the following weekend. If the timing is going to slip beyond what feels reasonable, we will reach out and offer a substitute, a wait, or a refund.

What it costs

Free local delivery on orders over $79. $15 flat below that. No surprise fuel surcharges, no per-bag fees. See our Service Area page for the zip codes we cover.

Heavy items

Mulch, soil conditioner, cow manure, potting mix, and pine bark all come bagged. Each bag is roughly 40 to 50 pounds. We bring them to the driveway curbside and stack them neatly. Moving a five-bag mulch pack to a garden bed at the back of your house is on you, but we are happy to leave them wherever along the driveway makes that easier (closer to the side gate, closer to the wheelbarrow, etc.) if you tell us at checkout.

You do not need to be home

We will not ring the doorbell unless you ask us to. Just leave us a clear path to the drop zone. If you have a dog who would object to a stranger in the driveway, mention it in the order notes and we will work around it.

If something is wrong

Snap a photo when you find it and email orders@plantness.co. We will make it right. We are a local business, not a faceless logistics company, and standing behind the delivery is the whole point.

Out of zone?

We can sometimes accommodate larger orders in nearby areas. See the bottom of our Service Area page for details.
